They entered the open gallery. The floor was painted with a large pentagram. Across the lower single point of the pentagram the word Lilith was painted and across the double pointed top Samael. A heavy stone alter occupied the center. A stone statue stood at the head of the pentagram. The face was a horned bronze mask and it was covered in a cloak made from a long haired goat skin. This is your home Lilith." The Baron said as he shoved Alexandra into a barred cell with her companions. "Who's the dumb shaggy goat man Baron?" "Baphomet, you should recognize him Lilith." "I'm Alexandra, not Lilith, you seem to have spent a fortune on this elaborate folly. You could have at least gotten my name right." "Laugh all you want witch, when Baphomet comes your suffering will just be starting." cover by Julie Nicholls at www.julienicholls.com

Welcome to The Steam Empire! In this Steampunk alternate history, the London-based East India Trading Company is conquering the world. Already, they control all of the South Pacific except for a collection of rebel outposts. They have struck an alliance with the Russian Empire in hopes of using them as partners to conquer and control Asia and the Middle East. Meanwhile, The United States is entering its fifth year of the Mexican-American War. They have continued the campaign south in an effort to control Central and South America for all its riches. Their grip of Mexico is firm from the Rio Grande to Mexico City, yet south of that is still in the midst of war. Their army, now stretched thin, may provide the perfect opportunity for the EITC to expand their territory. The fall of the world seems imminent. Only you can stop the enemy, and restore peace. This is a brainchild of two authors who were inspired by The Forgotten Realms' open-world concept. All are welcome to join and write their own additions to this collection of stories. To join, send us a PM or ask in the comments. Each author must go through a quick briefing before being added to the roster.

Nobody knows that Evie, not her husband, is the real mastermind behind his genius inventions. When Evie's husband is brutally murdered, she is forced to seek out a new partner through whom to sell her creations. Desperation leads her to seek out the earl, a man her late husband despised and returned the sentiment. Though he neither likes nor trusts her, he can't help but feel that her husband's murder is more than it seems. And when Evie's name is added to the suspect list, he has to intervene. Striking a reluctant partnership, Evie and the earl search for the man--or woman--who killed her husband, and uncover a much larger threat--one that threatens all of England.
