Armed with his new water jet pack, an artificially intelligent machine called Fludd, Mario gets down and dirty to clean Isle Delfino and find the Shine Sprites, the mysterious guardians of the Shine Gate responsible for restoring light to the island. But while the vacation has been put on hold, other things may lurk in the shadows... such as the mysteriously Mario-esque figure with a paintbrush who seems to have a strange obsession with Princess Peach.
