She stepped off the curb with a thousand other things on her mind. She wasn't really paying attention to her surroundings. It was a rainy, dreary kind of night. She had an umbrella clenched tightly in one hand as though the wind would whip it out of it any second. It might, the wind was blowing very strongly. She crossed the street safely and walked until she came to the next cross walk. Again she stepped off not really even looking at her surroundings. All of a sudden she hears the roar of a car in her ears. She looks to her left and all she can see are two blinding lights.
