The man in front of me gave me a lopsided smirk, "Feisty. I like that." I rolled my eyes, sipped my drink and narrowed my eyes at the bartender, "Shouldn't you be doing your job?" "There's other things I could be doing," he responded with a wink. He started pouring another drink, "Got a name?" "Audrey." The man gave me a wicked grin, "I'm Nathan." ❝Clyde Remington. Even his name sounded like trouble, the kind of trouble your mother warned you about and your friends fell madly, insanely, stupidly in love with. Clyde was the hurricane I didn't have any sirens for. Nothing could warn me off a guy like him.❞ *** Nabella Osmani wanted a typical year at college, complete with frat parties, study sessions, and tolerating her more-than-annoying boss. Even with all of this set straight in her mind, nothing in Nabella's life would've ever prepared her for Clyde Remington. When she meets the attractive right-wing hockey player, she learns that he's a part of a fraternity rumored to be affiliated with very bizarre things. Instead of fleeing, Nabella disregards the warning signs and decides to keep him close anyway. There's something that draws him to her, but she's not quite sure what exactly it is about him that's so alluring. Before she knows it, her quiet little college town is awakened with a chain of unfortunate events. I tugged the sleeves of my sweater to cover both of my hands, subconsciously as I walked into my dorm room. There was a boy, he looked a little older than me, sitting on the ledge, the same boy I saw earlier, reading his book. One of the windows at the back of the room was opened, letting the air in. It must be his girlfriend's room then. He saw me and walked back up the roof and climbed into the room. He held out his hand, "Hello, I'm Max." * * * * * This story goes over the first year of Logan and Max knowing each other. With some extra stuff at the end. She doesn't really fit in with the Nerds, or the Drama kids, or the Artists, or the Sporty crowd either. Is she a Popular kid? Nah, she'd rather barf. Come to think of it, she doesn't fit in anywhere, except right in the middle of the proverbial Food Chain of High School. That's where she fits in. She's a Middle. At a typical american High School, they're rare to come across. So how blessed she thinks she might be when she meets one of her own kind. When Aubrey Jensen's green eyes meet a boy's charming hazel ones, her life takes a (mostly) pleasant turn. A stare down, a friend request, a chat and a stroll down the lane of emotions is all it takes, and BAM! they're best friends. Question is, how long before they drop the act?
