(Does not follow any Hellboy comic or movie storylines) While on a mission Hellboy and the team (Abe, Krauss...etc) find a pod-like stasis cryo-tube. It's brought to base for examination. When it gets there they try to open it but its no use they have to wait for the timer to finish its countdown. Which it will end in two days.
