Maskaphobia
Lost in his mind which is stormier than a hurricane, Laurence Ballstone struggles onward through his seemingly oppressing and dismal life. His childhood was stopped when he witnessed his mother’s murder, now even as a man he still acts like a rebellious child craving for his father’s attention, the attention that he will never be given. Trapped in loneliness and wallowing in self pity Laurence makes a grave mistake that he will come to regret until the day he dies, Laurence makes a contract with a devil, a God, a monster. Laurence becomes a cursed man; a monstrosity forever frozen until fate deems otherwise.
“I once wished that I had wings, so that I could fly away. I would never in my wildest dreams have ever guessed that it would one day come true.”
"Bold stone" is a short story that introduces the character of Laurence and tells the tail of how he became a "cursed."
