70 years after an invasion by a highly advanced xenophobic alien race devastated Sol, humanity's home star system, signs of another Xathos incursion into humanity's remaining systems are appearing. The United Human Fleet has uncovered artifacts from a long lost alien civilization that work with almost magical abilities. To use them however is extremely dangerous and an intense amount of psychological training is required beforehand. It is evident that these mysterious relics hold the key to defeating the Xathos. Ever since the Razing, back in the year 2135 CE, humankind's various factions have been at peace, united under a collective pact meant to defend against any potential future Xathos invasions. The UHF has maintained order for the past seven decades, drawing on the resources of the collective remnants of humanity to build and research in anticipation of another Xathos Invasion.
