Winnie Jones never asked for what she painted or drew in the brief blackout spells that a shining within gave her. She didn't ask to see a lizard man with homicidal tendencies in an oddly named town or a boy with the bluest eyes she'd ever seen. To top that, she sure as hell didn't ask to get involved. But unfortunately for her, that didn't quite seem to matter. [season two]

My world was always split into two: them and me. I was on the outside, always looking in, tapping the glass and then running to hide the second anyone turned to look. My best friend had died, and I was left alone in this world, until I met her. She had always been my coyote. The one who saved my life nearly six years ago. She was all I had, and that was fine by me. Until a couple of nosy boys found me in the woods and turned my life upside down. The simple world I knew was turned upside down. I was no longer alone, no matter how hard I tried to be. The line was gone, and in just a few weeks I learned more truths about the world and myself than I had ever imagined to be possible. High school. It's difficult enough to navigate on its own. Especially when you were quick-witted, bitterly sarcastic, and emotionally constipated with a bad case of verbal diarrhea. And yes she was aware of the inherent contradiction contained within that phrase. When Charlie Oswin moved to Beacon Hills to live with her aunt after the death of her father, she thought the worst she'd have to deal with was gossip, term papers, and her new best friend and across-the-street neighbor Lydia Martin lipsticking her to death in the never-ending quest to make Charlie socially acceptable. Actually Lydia had described it more as avoiding becoming a 'facepalm-inducing embarrassment'. But for a tiny town that was 90% forest with only one functional movie theater, there sure seemed to be a lot of people dying. There was something going on in Beacon Hills--something off. Enter one Stiles Stilinski. He was a twitchy, sarcastic weirdo, and she definitely appreciated that in a person. He and his friend Scott McCall also happened to be at the center of every strange thing that was going on in this weird-ass town. It was one giant mystery. And she was going to figure out what it was. She just never expected to stop being scary and defensive long enough to start developing actual human feelings along the way.
