Life isn't easy for sixteen year-old Taiga Ryder, with an overprotective mother, a severe case of spine disorder and an unknown destiny for her to fulfil. The tales of the Pentatuchs were unheard and forgotten by most people. Five hundred years have passed since the last time they were in action, five hundred years since the sacred ring of Five was complete. "Accidents" have always prevented the rest of the Pentatuchs from discovering the last remaining and most important member, but a new generation of young and inexperienced Pentatuchs are more determined than ever before. With time slipping away, they have the aberrant task of finding the legendary Fifth link and somehow training that person to become powerful enough to fight against an ancient enemy. Soon they will realise that determination will not be enough to restore the scattered Pentatuchs and its legacy. Throughout the centuries, mortals have tried to be like the heavenly beings, gifted and immortal, by gathering information that is forbidden for mortals to have. In legends they say, that there is a sword, fallen from heaven and was placed within the reach of mortals and immortals. And every generation, a chosen one is picked by fate, who would be able to retrieve the sword and attempt to restore the imbalance of heaven and earth. Add in a caffeine ravaged female, a handsome devil with a fiery attitude, a bipolar pervert with a passion for topiaries and a ringleader with a deadly stare and what do you get? One hell of an adventure

The vast majority of the writing I have seen on this website is worth less than the change I left upon your mother's nightstand. That means that, by statistical likelihood, your writing probably sucks too. Not in whole, mind you, but when it comes to a few of the trickier bits, you find yourself staring at a blank screen and scowling like a madman. I, on the other hand, am damned good at this writing stuff. So, out of the bottomless generosity of my heart, I decided to try and help your plebeian self. Plot exposition, character development, show versus tell, and all the little things that experienced writers know already. These are the secrets I'll drop on your lap in a vain attempt to make you learn a thing or two. I'm tired of reading all the crap on this site; don't let your work be part of it.

She meets four other people who have gone through the same thing she has. She also meets her group therapist Cleo Patricks. Nymphix. They were a rare race of advanced humans discovered by scientists many years ago. Not long after, they were known to all human kind, and naturally, there were those who were jealous. Jealous that Nymphix had abilities to do things that normal humans could not, and a group formed and hunted down every last one until they were nothing more than a myth told as a bedtime story for children. Little did everyone know that those scientists kept seven Nymphix in their lab to experiment on, and after the rest of them died out the scientists let them out into the world. There was all but one rule; they were only to procreate with humans. To make more Nymphix would be too risky, and they were sure to be found by the Hunters so instead they made Nymphan. Half Nymphix, half human. Eventually they were all that were left of the Nymphix...or so they thought.

Can a natural killer learn to be human again? Regan's unique talent for murder makes her a perfect assassin. After a lethal encounter leaves her broken body washed up on a beach, she finds herself adopted by a group of teenage bodyguards. She doesn't intend to stay for long, but soon Regan finds herself faced with a choice: become a hero or stay a villain? *** The boy played with the flat brim of the cap in his hands and looked around the room. He sat back in his chair, trying to look casual, but the heel of his hi-top sneaker drummed rapidly on the concrete floor. Regan sat opposite him with her legs crossed and her hands folded on her tartan skirt. She watched him without a word and brushed a strand of blue-dyed hair behind her ear. Somehow this seemed to unsettle him more. 'Calm down,' she said. 'It's just murder.' *** Author's Note: Darkness Girl: Trickster God is represented by Louise Fury from The Bent Agency. P.S. The epic cover was made by Paul Kopetko (you can stalk him at paulkopetko.com). Enjoy!

{Sequel to Elisabeth Marie} "There are SEVEN of you?" I asked again, not really believing. "Yeah," he replied, grinning. "You got a problem with that?" *** A little over a year ago, I didn't dare to dream of going outside. I certainly never would have thought that I would end up in a city that I knew virtually nothing about and absolutely no one, a complete stranger. Yet here I was. *Formerly titled 'Who's the Fairest'?* ******************** Copyright © 2015 by Holly Ruth || Hollyruth All rights reserved.
