At the same time, Embers are the bridge between the Authorities and Shades, relaying missions from them to their appointed Shade partners. Shades and Embers are drilled to follow every order to the letter with no questions asked. But what happens when a particular pair decide to forget the rules and dig into ancient history that was supposedly forgotten?
