"It was a mistake, Scott! Get that through your head!" Mitch Grassi, a blossoming art student at a college far from home, has trouble studying one night as the dorm a few doors down hosts a wild, loud, and distracting party. He finds himself going to shut it down, but ends up doing much more. After an accidental hookup, he tries to go on with his life, but he can't shake the man that can't seem to shake him. He has put up expert walls to avoid situations like these, but that man still wants to break them down, no matter how many times Mitch tells him that was happened was a mistake.

Troye, the unlucky teenager bestowed with this 'gift', thinks of it as a curse, with good reason. He's seen how different kids get treated, hell, he's been the one to treat them that way before. Why on Earth would he ever wish that on himself? No, it's easier to hide, to be someone you're not, than to be hated. Right?

Scott was no stranger to dealing with someone who made his life literal hell. He had to deal with his sporadic mother on a weekly basis. However, after nearly getting his laptop stolen by a 19 year old, homeless boy with a sharp tongue and no knowledge of social etiquette, he learns a whole new meaning to the phrase "in over you head".
