Everything's different now, after the Giant War. So even after arriving home Percy can't tell anyone the truth; not his mom, not his new, rather odd, neighbor, not the friends that he's afraid to be close to. But the truth always hurts and somehow, the truth always shows. Maybe it's a good thing that his new neighbor, Peter Parker, is just a little too observant. Or maybe it isn't. Meanwhile the world is changing. New threats have risen and been defeated. But people are disappearing, people are dying. And even the people who are supposed to be heroes can't stop this. But that's sort of the point. Now though the darkness which Peter has always managed to keep at an arm's length is right outside his front door. Right inside it. Peter can't lose anyone else. Percy can't lose anyone else. Both are sure that if they do they're bound to lose themselves. Now though loss isn't and if but a when. Not a when but how much. Neither of them plan on getting out of this one. Both are sure that there must be someone at fault. But innocence and guilt mean nothing in this blame game, because with all this hurt, with all this death, with all this pain, isn't everyone somehow to blame? And maybe they aren't so different, Peter and Percy. Maybe they can find a way to work together, fight together, stop this together. Maybe together they can find a way to get out of this one, find a way to save even those who don't want to be saved. Or maybe they can't. Persephone (Percy) Jackson likes to think that if she had known what was coming when she had boarded that warship on her way to Greece to save the world than she would have done something different. Anything different. Because there had to be a way to save them, right? Out of any of her hundreds of decisions during that war, perhaps just one of them would have saved them. Would have saved them all. But the wrong decisions were made, and now they were all gone. Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, Hazel; even her best friend, Annabeth. How naive was she? She actually thought that they might make it. But it wasn't to be. She was all alone now. And if she was being honest with herself, it'd always been that way. Alone. She'd never quite fit in anywhere. Even at camp. Her home and all her family was gone, and the only thing she could think to do was to ask why she hadn't gone with them. Why her? Why, after everything, had she survived? And that's when the Justice League comes in along with her mysterious new uncle, Bruce Wayne, who may be more than he appears.
