In war there must be a winning side. There is always love and loss, betrayal of the most tragic kind. There is always a King sitting on a throne looking to rule the world and create it in his image. In this story there are five vicious Kings looking to do their own bidding. Only one will be left standing in the end. The Gods created powerful beings to help keep the world spinning on the right track, but some of those he created didn't want to follow in the footsteps of righteousness. The Ancients, the first Vampyre's to walk the earth - were cruel, manipulating, merciless, and craved destruction and chaos. They sought out the blood of the most oldest and powerful Witches to make their bloodline immortal, to make their line unstoppable. They succeeded. Now, the others, the leaders of the Wolves, Jinn, Light and Dark Fae, Witches, and Spell Casters have to put aside their differences and come together to find a way to stop the Ancients. If they fail, the world they know will end. Blood of all races will be spilled until there is none left but the Vampyre's. Can they stop them before they take complete control over everyone, over the world? Will love change the heart of one of the most vicious Vampyre's? Or will betrayal from both sides cause a downfall like never before? A war is brewing. Choose your side wisely.

When one hears the word Immortal, you automatically assume that they never die. That's not entirely true. You see, the word is used so loosely nowadays that everyone just assumes that immortality means to escape death - to cheat death. When in reality, they can die from being staked in the heart. Sometimes they die from being staked with wood from a sacred tree. Holy water; It either burns them - acting as a substitute for Sulfuric Acid - or it sets them on fire and they turn to ash within a matter of seconds. Consecrated grounds--Vampires cannot step foot on them, it's considered holy - virginal, and the dead (or rather undead) are tainted and unable to gain entrance without spontaneously combusting . Does one ever wonder if a "true Immortal" exists? What if he does exist? What if no stake could penetrate his skin, and what if the effects of holy water can't turn his undead, earthly body to ash. As far as decapitation goes... well, let's just say the owner of the weapon always lost their head. Undefeatable, unable to be killed, unable to be hurt. A true immortal walks the earth in search of the answers to the mysterious prophecy etched on the cave walls, and how to put an end to the curse he's rapidly spread around the world. Follow Caen Tomes as he sets about on a journey that will forever change his once human life, into a truly immortal one, and the world as you know it. A prophecy to be fulfilled, questions needing answers, an end to the curse that plagues him, and a fight to the death. Caen will never be the same again. Nor will the world.

Leof was gone. I wanted to scream again at the thought. My Leof was dead, laid out in the shrine where I'd left him just before dawn. It hadn't taken an army to kill him, all it had taken was one wolf, one man whom he'd shown mercy to. Fenrir had done his job just as predicted, and I'd lost the only thing that mattered to me, the only thing that had kept me sane after the truth of my past was revealed. Conn was my strength, my heart, the very best parts of me and I'd never see him again. Once his body was given to the sun and his echo vanished I'd never hear him say the three words that were my reason to exist. I love you. I love you. I love you... But I'm not ready to let be alone. I'm not ready for goodbye. Condemning my Leof to Valhalla is something I can't do, but what if there's no way to bring him back? Can I just fade away? Slip into the coma and forget everything? Would it be fair to when the cohort needs me to protect them from Osier, from the Bloodied Hand, and from our ever increasing number of enemies?

Let me tell you what it was to be made vampire. It wasn't birth. Birth implies pushing, tearing forth into the light, screaming. Becoming immortal was to be pulled, to be tugged irrevocably into darkness, and it was silent. I should have fought, any person should fight, but my mind had been filled with a hazy calm which forbade any battle. Struggling had been the last thing on my mind, even when my bus arrived and my assailant waved it on, dismissing my last hope of escape. Yet my lack of rebellion was far from the most unsettling part of the stranger's control over me. The truth was that the man could've asked anything of me and I would've complied, but he didn't need to vocalise his request. I knew instinctively what he wanted. I sighed and surrendered myself as he held me against his front in a lover's embrace, tipping my head and willingly giving him access to my throat. "One day you'll understand," he whispered, his tone subdued. I've often wondered since if he was really talking to me. Perhaps he'd been talking to himself, persuading himself that one day I'd know and accept his reasons for what he'd planned for me. I wouldn't. I couldn't. Because when my fangs came in, my world altered irrevocably. It became somewhere dark, somewhere filled with murder and blood, where magic was sinister and where even my closest ally seemed more like an enemy... Even if he did make my heart skip a beat.
