"We found you at the station last night. A taxi dropped you off. The driver told me that you were knocked out the entire ride and so he just brought you here." He said and then pulled out a small object from another larger envelope and set it in front of me. I picked it up. It was a gold ring with a large diamond in the middle with smaller diamonds embedded into the side of the ring. I just stared at it and then looked back at the detective. I slid it back to him. He held it up, examining it. "A very fine ring. We found it in your pocket." "I've never seen it before." I told him. Although I can't remember the night before so maybe I have. It's feels so foreign to feel this way-- to not be able to remember anything-- although my mind was slowly becoming clearer. "Look, you have got to talk or you are going to be made guilty of stealing this ring." He handed me another cup. I downed that too. It was water. "I can't."

A girl, seventeen years old, has been kept up in a stone box of a room ever since she was kidnapped ten years ago. Apart from Mark, her mouse friend, the bodiless voices in her room, and the man who takes her body for what it is, she is alone and cut off from society and fears she will never be saved. But, she might get saved after all.

When one adventurous and trouble-causing friend catches a glimpse of something mysterious on a hillside, he convinces his friends that it could be an abandoned mine shaft. He was right, but they never would have guessed what would happen next.

Jack and his friends have planned a boat party for his first year anniversary in the Navy, except when they go, a beautiful mermaid makes Jack love-crazy. When a missile strike test is announced, Jack feels that he has to warn her, but things don't go as expected and it is not a happily after ending. This is a short story in which I hope you readers enjoy as I did writing it.
