Daughter4254 used to think life in a community where art, music and names are outlawed would suffocate her creative spirit. Now that she’s rotting in a prison cell, she’s not sure her dying mother made the right choice when she entrusted her with the secrets of rebellion. Prison has given her plenty of time to relive every mistake and lose all hope. Her next stop is the MindWipe. Then she meets Thomas, a fellow inmate, who tells her stories of the mythical mountain colonies where people have names and the arts thrive. Together they plot an escape, knowing if they fail, they will die. Or worse, their consciousness will be taken by the MindWipe, leaving their bodies free for the government to use. When nothing goes as planned, Daughter4254 must choose between using her mother's secret to better the world she hates, or following Thomas to the quiet life of freedom she has always craved.

A group of misfits, conspiracy theorists, a hippy, and none other than an imposter of the King of Rock himself join up at the start of the zombie apocalypse. They all had their opinions that it would start eventually and they all knew how to fight the damned things. But when the aliens started to invade, that was too much. Their now on a journey across the country to make it to the rumored Safe House in Alaska. Will they make it there in one piece or loose people on the way? Will they come into contact with zombies or aliens? Will they end up killing each other and just be killed themselves? Will the aliens have zombie babies?! Follow the misadventures or the group on the journey to find out if it truly is the end of the world as they know it. Alex has now turned sixteen along with her older brother, Chris, and eagerly wait for the day they are ripped from their families to face The Vote. With competitions, fights, death and love ahead; Alex can only hope to figure out her rare Arcane powers, for they may just save her life.
