"I'll love you till you die." How long is that? What about after death? An icy cool breeze blew gently across my back. Warm liquid caked my body, gluing my eyes shut. A moan of pain escaped my lips, as I slowly started to gain control of my body again and my brain finally registered the thousands of slits across my back. Breaking the thin film of blood over my eyes I sat up gasping in pain with every small movement another lightly healed cut split back open. Holly's ragged breathing could be heard from the corner and I could just make out her shivering silhouette. A sickly dark liquid started to fill my mouth, I spat it out but more came in its place. I tried swallowing it but nothing helped, my nails scraped across the cool stone beneath me as I tried to reach out for someone or something to hold onto.

This is for all of you Lockwood and co readers who avidly shipped Lucy with Lockwood, but never got the satisfaction of seeing them unite. Oh and it also comes with action and humour. Just a few short chapters. Disclaimer : all rights belong to Jonathan Stroud. The cover isn't mine either

A Lockwood And Co. Fanfiction Also known as '35 Portland Row's Journal'. “George Cubbins, here. I’ve decided that while Lockwood and Co. is a relatively small company, we need someone to record our adventures – just in case no one makes it home alive. (Lockwood just called me a spoil-sport.) Well it’s true and I think it will come in very handy when dealing with new ghosts and discoveries. I’ve labeled our first few recordings and you may find them on the top shelf in our Library.” [A muffled noise in the background is heard. George huffs into the mic.] “Yes, or shoved in a corner by the bathroom, as Lucy so pleasantly puts. But feel free to listen to any of them. I assure you they are sanitary. Oh, that’s Lockwood calling me. We’re on our way to Arif’s to taste-test some of his new donuts. See you then. George Cubbins, Lockwood and Co. Deputy Operative, signing out.” A.J. Lockwood and Co. After dark, ring bell and wait behind the iron line.
