NOTE: CURRENTLY UNDERGOING REVISION! Twilight Eventide is a 15 year old girl who has a temper, a bad temper. That's where she got her name, Tempest. She is a real good fighter and can take care of herself pretty well. When she was 5, her parents were taken away and murdered, therefore she had to run away and ended up in Manhattan, for everyone thought she was the one that did it. Jack Kelly, who became her unofficial brother, took her in after a few years and brought her up to fight and sell papers. She has no need to dress up as a boy, being herself is much more intimidating. Tempest cannot do anything and thinks there should be more excitement in her boring dull New York life. Spot is the feared newsie leader from Brooklyn. He is known as a big womanizer, but he hasn't found "the one" yet. Right now he is with a girl named Livia, a greedy shirtwaist factory girl. He is a pretty good leader for Brooklyn, his cane that he stole from Pulitzer and his slingshot are his main weapons. Being intimidating has always been his way to get people to do what he wants, but it doesn't work on Tempest, not one bit. As they meet, will these two powerful newsies clash? Or will they be able to tolerate each other, at least until the end of the strike? (I do not own any Newsies Characters except the ones that I made up!)

Eliana(Ellie) Van Wyck, daughter of Mayor Robert Van Wyck in New York City, has been set up with Oscar Delancey by her mother and father. She's not happy, but her parents think he's the best to handle her fiery personality. Ellie just doesn't see how somebody with a smug look like that can be good for her. When her assumptions are proven correct when she sees him and his even more smug looking brother, Morris, pick a fight with the local newsies, she makes it her mission to get her parents to see the real Oscar Delancey. With the help of the newsies, she can possibly make that happen, if she can convince them to help her. Along with hidden romances to go along with everything else, Ellie starts to question her view on her father, and her father's good friend, Mr. Joseph Pulitzer.

When Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise the distribution price one-tenth of a cent per paper, ten cents per hundred, the newsboys, poor enough already, are outraged. Inspired by the strike put on by the trolley workers, Jack "Cowboy" Kelly organizes a newsboys' strike. With David Jacobs as the brains of the new union, and Jack as the voice, the weak and oppressed found the strength to band together and challenge the powerful. (Written by Kaitlin Dwyer Rankins) Jack and David were the main characters, but they could not do it without Spot Conlon. Little is known about the King of Brooklyn, but as a character based on a boy who actually lived, he must have had dreams and ambitions just like fictional Jack and David. Here are my writings in a small attempt to give Spot Conlon the story--and the ending--he deserves.

Mia always enjoyed going to visit her grandpa and helping him care for the Newsis, it always made her feel important. She considered all the rag-tag, "street rats" her brothers and welcomed them with open arms when the were new. Though, she always had a special place in her heart for Jack Kelly. He was her best friend and the only boy she has ever had a crush on. When her Grandfather becomes sick and needs help at the lodge house, she is the first to volunteer. Not like anyone else would go. Her two older brothers were so caught up in their perfect South Hampton life style, they gave no thought to their grandfather. Plus, this is the start of an adventure Mia had always dreamt of, for she was not content with her "perfect" life. She wanted more. She wanted to learn, live, and love. But, it has been so long since the newsies have seen Mia, that they don't even recognize her. Not even her best friend Jack, who is to preoccupied with a every girl he can get into his bed, he doesn't give Mia a second look. How will she react? DISCLAIMER: Based off the Broadway cast!
