In the year 2022, Sword Art Online has been officially released as the first ever VRMMORPG, produced by Argus for the NerveGear, a helmet that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds with Akihiko Kayaba as the developer. The online game takes place on a hundred-floor floating castle called Aincrad. On November 6, 10,000 players log into the SAO's mainframe cyberspace for the first time, only to discover that they are unable to log out, they are all trapped within the game, they are held captive in Kayaba's new world. Kayaba appears as the game master and tells that he has purposely removed the log-out button, if the players wish to escape and be free they must clear all 100 floor levels and beat the final boss of Aincrad. Those who suffer in-game deaths or forcibly remove the NerveGear out-of-game will suffer real-life deaths. They must fight for their lives, real struggle for survival stars now... Link start!
