For a reason unknown to the Asher and his family his father hated him and therefore abused him mentally, by saying the most rude and outlandish things to Asher. With this kind of abuse being a daily thing not just by his father, but by his whole family made him depressed and he was never taken to get help so the only way that Asher knew how to make the pain go away was to inflict self-harm on himself. His father then found out that he was self-harming and beat him for the first and last time because after he beat him he took him to a boys home and left him and disowned him and this is where Asher's story begins.
