How to Write Fanfiction is a writing resource that contains tips and tricks on crafting fanfiction stories - by the community, for the community. This guide will serve as a helpful point of reference for fanfiction writers both old and new. We ultimately hope to encourage Wattpadders to immerse themselves in the limitless world of fanfiction and try their hand at fic writing!

Welcome to the Wattpad Writing Great Fiction introduction! You can browse through the chapters and use them as a reference when needed, or you can treat this like a class in writing fiction. There are assignments you can do, but don't worry, there aren't any due dates. There are lectures, but you don't have to take notes and there are no tests. But, if you work through it, if you do the assignments and think about how the lessons can apply to your writing, if you really push yourself, we guarantee that your writing will improve. With just a little bit of effort, you will feel more confident and your readers will see it in your work. You'll learn more about how to structure your stories, how to write great sentences that pull readers in and how to write characters that people will relate to and want to follow. A note on how this book is organized: The first eight chapters are devoted to the fundamentals you need to know to be able to craft stories that will draw readers in. The next seven chapters focus on different ways of planning and crafting your story, and after that we go over a variety of things including style and common story problems. So, jump in with us! Explore the craft of writing, work on the homework, try some of our contests and meet other writers who want to push themselves! Have you ever not been able to figure out the right words? I live by the quote: "You may not write your best every day, but you can always edit a bad page, you can't edit a blank one." Though this doesn't work for just everyone. That is why I am creating this. I will post prompts for whoever wants to complete them. They will be Dina bs the goal is to make you think outside of how you normally think, so that way when you return to writing your story you will have a fresh new perspective. This little book is brief, straight forward, and easy to understand. I hope it will serve as an easy-to-read manual to help serious writers perfect their craft. I should say right off the bat that I am NOT an expert; I forget my own tips all the time! However, I do know what generally works for me, so I thought I could pass it on to my friends at Wattpad. One last note: this book is for writers who have a basic understanding of grammar and story structure.
