His escape was hardly as heroic as he once thought it might have been, back before he was the dog of the Saviors, back when he still had bite. But now, that was gone, all that was left was trauma, both physical and mental. So when Daryl fell off his bike, sobbing at the sight of the Hilltop, at the sight of freedom, whether it was temporary or merely fleeting, he barely scolded himself.

Daryl Dixon. Something about him made me smile, even though the man would never even give me the time of day. He hated me, with an odd passion that I would never understand. I mean I never gave him any reason to hate me! Besides stealing his truck full of food. And sinking it. And almost shooting him. But I saved his life in that last scenario. Yeah he tried to act badass but I could see past it. I could see that sweet side of him that he tries to hide with his crossbow.

An AU story of Daryl and Jesus (Paul) where Daryl is mute, he doesn't stand up for himself, and Paul tries to figure out why.

High school/modern au. Daryl - known as Merle's brother, nothing else. Paul (Jesus) - known as one of popular people in school, some people know him as a true fuckboy, some as cool and sweet guy. Mature content: blood, death, strong language, smut, abuse. They both look in the fanficton like in the cover.

Daryl is mad. Jesus tries to make him feel better. They get into a tickle fight.

The group after Glenn's death go to Hilltop because Maggie and Daryl needed doctor right away. Jesus helped the doctor Harlan and stayed by Daryl's side. Something good happened while they spent time together. Jesus made Daryl stand up again. To feel, to live. ~~I'm writing this before season 7 I don't know who dies so I'm writing Glenn just like in the comics. The action is pretty fast but since it was a one-shot..
