One day after she receives a mysterious note that threatens her very existence. Pat "Bennie" Benatar has died. And now she's a ghost, just trying to pass on to Heaven or Hell or whatever's up next. With a talking ghost dog and a Brain as a sidekick, wherever she's going is sure to be a hoot. But as time passes and Bennie is still on Earth, she begins to really wonder what her purpose is. Purpose appears in the form of Tucker Harlow, a jaded Californian werewolf with bedroom eyes and more issues than Vogue. But Tucker can see her; ghostly orange converse and all. Feelings begin to blossom and Bennie has finally found a reason to stay on earth: Tucker. But, as being a ghost proves, nothing good lasts long for Bennie. Obstacles arise that threaten Bennie's new dead life. But Bennie has found something worth living for. Scratch that; she's no longer living. Bennie's found something worth dying for. And she aims to keep it.
