283 AC, Battle of the Trident. Rhaegar Targaryen kills Robert Baratheon, crushing the hopes of the rebel forces. Years of bloodshed follow, because the king's taste for revenge knows no boundaries. Houses Baratheon, Stark, Arryn, Tully and Greyjoy are slaughtered, only a few lucky ones outlive the mad king's wrath. King Aerys dies the following year, and Rhaegar is crowned king. His wife, princess Elia of Dorne, dies in childbirth. Soon afterwards, Rhaegar marries Lyanna Stark, who is held hostage in Red Keep. He claims her son, Jon, as his own and legitimizes him. Rhaegar's mother, Rhaella, gives birth to twins eight months after her husband's death. She refuses to return to Red Keep, residing at Dragonstone for the rest of her life. After her death in 301 AC, twins Daenerys and Viserys are sent to King's Landing. Difficult times lie ahead. Creatures of ice awaken from their sleep, threatening the king's peace. The royal family is not as strong as it appears. Lords wronged during the Robert's Rebellion seek revenge. However, the Targaryens are not the ones to give up. They are going to fight, as they always have. With blood and fire. Let the game begin. NOTE: If you haven't read all 5 Song of Ice and Fire books, this fanfiction may contain spoilers! I don't own any of the characters that appear in the original books.

Passport? Check. A book of maps of every country in the world? Check. Backpack and small suitcase that contains everything I possess? Check. The world best, international traveling, treasure hunting dad and the most awesome stepmom who is more like my best friend? Check. And new, totally gorgeous English intern of my father's who's tagging along on our next adventure? Double check. Call me, Callie Landon, nerdy and I'd have to totally agree. I mean, how could I not be nerdy when I graduated high school at thirteen and double majored in college and got my bachelor's in both history and international studies by sixteen? Again, just call me nerdy. But I loved my life of travel. I got to see the world with my dad and stepmom, searching for treasure that was thought to be lost for hundreds of years...until we found it, of course. And now we were going on an expedition to find one of the most sought after treasures: the hidden treasure of the infamous pirate Blackbeard. With the three of us, plus Max Knight, my dad's new intern, we were sure we would be able to find it with the help of some clues along the way. But then there are always those other people who just happen to think that they can find it before you and are willing to do anything to stop you. Oh, that's always fun. But then again, it's always fun in the world of treasure hunting. (Book 1 in the My Life Series)

A collection of paranormal, horror and fantasy short stories woven around old legends, odd characters, the occasional werewolf and the darkness within, some of which have been published or picked up the odd award. There are things you cannot see unless they want to be seen, and some legends linger on despite the modern world. A Gift in the Dark is a compilation of short works, many based around old myths and legends, and starts with a tale of a miner's descent into madness, history and legend, drifts through darkness, past a retelling of Red Riding Hood, up a crane, and along to the end of the world.

“I never really understood why he hated me ever since I blurted out that I liked him.” Yes, that was what Rachel Falls had in mind when her more-than-a-crush and undoubtedly best friend, Rylance Hansen, left her – and not just her, but the town in particular – in anger when they were freshmen just one week before summer kicked in. She means, was it really bad to admit your feelings to someone you knew since kindergarten? She didn’t think so, but Rylance thought otherwise.
