#105 in Sci-Fi EARTH IS NOTHING MORE BUT A WORLD THAT USED TO EXIST. Hexeria is what it is called now. No more forests. No more wide oceans. No more animals. Just us, and the remaining of the human beings. The humans which my species are hunting down. I, in all form, is against this. But how can one Project stop the army of "Enchanced" and the controller of the HexTech Prime? I need help. We all do. Long ago, Earth was about to face its end when an alien army planned to conquer it, but they did not succeed because of the modernization of technology, because of us. We were created to serve and protect humanity at all cost, even if it means sacrificing our lives. Yes, we have defeated the foreign beings, but another conflict rose when our system malfunctioned. And the butchery began then. The humans we once protected, died by our hands. I unknowingly got myself out of the system. Not knowing how, not knowing why. Now I must continue my sole purpose even if it means defying everyone I once worked with. For the sake of humanity's survival, I am ready to die.

Today, he's a high school dropout with no future. Tomorrow, he's a soldier in World War II. Kale Jackson has spent years trying to control his time-traveling ability but hasn't had much luck. One day he lives in 1945, fighting in the war as a sharpshooter and helplessly watching soldiers-friends-die. Then the next day, he's back in the present, where WWII has bled into his modern life in the form of PTSD, straining his relationship with his father and the few friends he has left. Every day it becomes harder to hide his battle wounds, both physical and mental, from the past. When the ex-girl-next-door, Harper, moves back to town, thoughts of what could be if only he had a normal life begin to haunt him. Harper reminds him of the person he was before the PTSD, which helps anchor him to the present. With practice, maybe Kale could remain in the present permanently and never step foot on a battlefield again. Maybe he can have the normal life he craves. But then Harper finds Kale's name in a historical article-and he's listed as a casualty of the war. Kale knows now that he must learn to control his time-traveling ability to save himself and his chance at a life with Harper. Otherwise, he'll be killed in a time where he doesn't belong by a bullet that was never meant for him.

*THE UNEDITED VERSION* Beware of typos, errors, and general mistakes. This is a very, very rough draft. "I live in a place called Compound 4. We are one of ten different compounds placed at strategic locations around the US. It's been thirteen years since the virus overtook humanity, turning about ninety percent of us into zombies. I'm not sure how it started exactly; that's classified information. I do know that in order to save what was left of the human race, the president at the time took a bunch of really smart people and kids and relocated them into new 'protected' cities. My father was one of those really smart people. I was only five at the time, but I knew what was happening." Within the walls of the compound, Jay makes stupid mistakes, mistakes even she doesn't understand, putting everyone inside at risk. All because she can't shoot someone. All because she misses the wind in her hair, the flowers on the hillsides, the sound of crickets at night. All because she's different, the only person untouchable by the Virus. When the mistakes begin to duplicate, and a girl shows up who knows her name, everything begins to change in Compound 4. Highest rank in Science Fiction: #9

I was never meant to leave that room. I had spent my whole life in there, imagining what it was like on the outside. I looked forward to the day when I would finally be allowed to leave. But that day was never supposed to come. Until James decided to keep his promise. He had always been there, on the other side of the glass. Waiting. The experiment wasn't over. He was still waiting for me to change. But I didn't change. Not until that night. It was dark, and there was rain. The sound of the car engine was loud, but the crash was louder. In the crash, I became something different. I changed. But not for James. This new part of me emerged for one reason; to save her.
