She is a Shadow Weaver, one of the outlawed, glitter-eyed race feared in her land and forced into brutal slavery as children. She and her brother Kel have escaped their fate by hiding near the frozen mountains. But when bounty hunters snatch Kel, Mirra injured and unable to track long distances will lose him unless she gives herself up to his captors. As as a Shadow Weaver who's survived childhood and whose golden-flecked irises have faded, concealing her talent, Mirra's own value is priceless on the black-market. Taken to a lawless town in the northern territories, Mirra convinces her captors to sell her to a mysterious young man destined for the same province as the officer who has bought her brother. The young man is the Kingdom's missing Prince, feared dead after his escort was attacked on an expedition. He has been in hiding, waiting for a Shadow Weaver whose skill he can use to discover who ordered his assassination. But before he will risk breaking his father's law and taking Mirra to the royal court, he must test her talent and her ability to hide it. If Mirra fails, her hopes of seeing her brother again will be cut by the noose around her neck. Dana's best friend Kitty has died in a car accident, and the only ray of light in the misery is when her grandmother appears in her spiffy red sports car to cheer her up. At the same time a nightmarish shadow appears to hunt Dana and she has to flee from her ordinary life with grandma, who turns out to be something quite different than what Dana had thought - a Huntress of Shadows. The truth about her ancestry is not an easy thing for Dana to accept - she was deliberately created to perform a task, to find something that should stay hidden, or it might threaten the world of humans as Dana knows it. Her existence is tied to the myth of the Nephilim, the descendants of angels, and her creator was someone who commands the forces of chaos and darkness, the source of all horror myths of humankind. Dana learns there is a world of shadows, the afterlife, dreams and time travel, surrounding the physical world, hidden behind a thin veil - and that there are ways to enter it from the physical world. Dana has no option - she is being hunted by creatures of darkness, and the hunt can only end in either Dana and everyone she loves being captured and turned into creatures of darkness - or Dana finding what she was created to find. Her hunters have skills no ordinary human can escape - but Dana is not an ordinary human. Nor is Daniel, the leader of a hidden Center fighting the darkness. Together with a chosen team they could travel the Unseen Worlds that surround the physical world, into the past, following a clue written down in ancient Egypt, and then walk the Trail of Angels, and find the hidden mystery before the dark creatures do. Dana must prepare for a long search in another time and place, knowing that both she and Daniel are wanted and hunted by the darkness. At stake is her love, and the destiny of the human kind. *WATTPAD FEATURED & HOT STORY* (Completed) My grandfather had once told me that life was an unpredictable beast-one moment calm with a full belly and heavy eyes, and the next, digging its paws in the dirt, snarling just before it took down its next victim. Until recently, I would argue with that notion, listing all the reasons why my life was as predictable as the tides coming and going. While I listened, I was young and never put much thought into a lot of the things my grandfather told me, but all that changed when the Hunters moved back to Sandpoint. More specifically, Wes Hunter. That was when the impossible became possible and the predictable became unpredictable. As Abigail Rose looked down on her new world, she couldn't deny the things she had seen and all the things she had learned. There were days she wished she could go back to her old life, but she had changed. Evolved. She was no longer a love-struck seventeen year old. She was a chosen leader and her path was undeniable. The black and white was fading to gray, and the only thing between mortals and immortals was her. "Dani Hart's compelling writing style had me hooked from start to finish. I read this book and I am already hanging out for the sequel! This is one of those books that I could gush on about for ages so let me just say that I highly recommend this book to everyone that loves YA- it's definitely a must read!" ~Land of Literature "Midnight Rose is addicting and so good. It's a start of a new world, with so much going on. Author Dani Hart tells the story so beautifully, with teases of so many things, that's to come. As she gives us bits of pieces of what we can look forward to, I was left so excited for the next installment of the Midnight Series." ~Four Chicks Flipping Pages All Rights Reserved

The Daily Prophet Issue No. 101,770 3 July 2021 Lestrange: Model or Menace? After recent events at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it should not surprise readers to find Miss Astra Lestrange making the news once more. Where newsworthy trouble at Hogwarts brews, the little "heroine" never seems to be far. This alone has caused many at this paper to scratch their heads, but now there's call for more than that. As hype over the attack had died down, Lestrange has come up with more and more outlandish tales of what she claims happened to her that night, including madmen that no one has heard of and a much more subversive agenda behind the known terrorists', the Predatels, cause than evidence points to (an agenda that features her as a prominent part, it should be noted). We at the Prophet have found this a disturbing development, leaving many to wonder if there's more to Astra Lestrange than her do-gooder facade... ~~~~ Made out to be a liar and danger by the media, Astra Lestrange's credibility has dropped to exactly zero in the eyes of the public. She's left helpless, fighting a seemingly impossible battle against the Ministry of Magic. Harry Potter is on her side, of course, but that has left him on shaky ground with the Ministry. He's had to resort to outside means to stop Caymus Stillens, but even that seems to be a losing battle. Even without her fall from grace, Astra would have had a tough year in store. On top of her OWLs, a new rival in Eris Prince, and a controversial new member on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, Astra escaped from Stillens last year. And no one escapes from Caymus Stillens with their life. At least, not for long. As the year progresses and her fight with the Ministry is overshadowed by a fight for her life, Astra begins to suspect that all is not well inside Hogwarts. Could it be that she's been betrayed again? Started: 2/25/17 Ended: 4/21/18

This is a sequel! To avoid spoilers to Star of Gryffindor, please read that before reading this! Astra Lewis and Albus and James Potter are back at Hogwarts, this time for a (hopefully) much less dangerous year. But after Wren Predatels's shocking betrayal, Astra is having a hard time. Albus and James seemed to have moved on all right, but for Astra, it's different. It's a very hard thing to find out your first and closest friend was never really there for you. Not to mention all the changes going on. With a new Ministry-appointed headmaster, things are being run a bit differently. There's a clingy, annoying first year who instantly latches onto Astra, but gets sorted into the wrong House. And, Astra's nightmares are getting worse, driving her roommates insane. Not to mention the strange new girl, a transfer from Beauxbatons, who not only seems mysterious, but is apparently interested in the Dark Arts. All of this pales in comparison to the attempts to kidnap James. Astra and her friends are wary of everything now, but somehow, someone is slipping past their defenses...
