BOOK #1 in The Fire series TRIGGER WARNING IN SOME CHAPTERS He leans closer, keeping me pinned against the wall with his hands on either side of my head. I glanced at both of them before holding his glare with my own. He was giving me a cold stare, caging me in like an animal. I bit my lip, trying to hold it back. I was never good in situations like these. He stopped leaning forward when his face was just inches from mine. He was trying to make me uncomfortable. Trying to scare me, but he didn't. I wasn't scared of him. I didn't hide my face or get nervous... I just bit my lip harder, trying to hold it in. It would just make things worse for me, I bet. He kept his eyes on mine as I glanced at his friend behind him with his arms crossed and a bored expression on his face. I looked back at the man in front of me. "You shouldn't act that way around me." He says coldly. "I can have you dead right-" I couldn't hold it in. I started laughing. He leans back, shocked, but his face goes into a glare as soon as his friend behind him perks up, watching, interested now. I calm down a little. "I'm sorry." I say, catching my breath. "Continue, Continue." He watched me closely before leaning closer to me again. "I can have you killed-" Suddenly, I lost it again, laughing harder, bending a little to hold my stomach. He punched the wall in an effort to scare me but instead made me laugh even harder, falling to the ground and rolling on my side. Soon I had his friend laughing with me as the man in front of me glared at both of us. "Don't give me that look. She's the one who started laughing." His friend said, wheezing a little bit and trying to stop laughing. I calmed down a bit, standing up to face them, a smile on my face. "Now, if you're done threatening me," I raise an eyebrow. "Or at least trying to. I'll be on my way." With that, I grabbed my backpack, turned my back to them, and walked away.

And then there was her baby sister, Mary Lawson, who just so happened to be one of ESPN's most popular female sports analysts. Growing up, Chelsy found herself surrounded by sport's athletes. Many of them coming in and out of her home, making her life crazy with their inflated egos and an insane desire to talk about themselves. After college, she settled down with a prominent law firm as a legal assistant. With her life just beginning she wanted to stay as far away from famous athletes as she possibly could. But there was one place she couldn't avoid said athletes- her sister's wedding to another famous football star, Jet (Colton) Jordan. It was supposed to be the wedding of the year. Everyone was supposed to be there, including the magnetic, Dirk Curry who is instantly intrigued with the little spitfire whom he later learns is the older Lawson sister. Game plan, that is.......

"What a brilliant idea, Bonnie. Now his friends saw us with it." I shook my head. "Hey, don't try to pin this whole thing off on me. I was only trying to help...you should have never stolen it!" She rubbed the temples of her forehead. "I didn't steal. I borrowed." I stated. Jonah went towards the window and pulled one of the blinds down a little. "Uh, guys? You may want to stop the cat fight. Skylor's outside. And he looks pretty pissed off." Suddenly there were a series of loud thuds on my front door. "I know you're in there, Ivy! Either you open up the damn door or I'm breaking it down, I swear!" Skylor yelled. •*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*• [ trailer is in chapter one : ]

READ AT OWN RISK One other version available. ×××××× It started with a dare. It ended with something so much more serious. Braelyn Sawyer was the girl who kept to herself. She was barely recognized at school unless one of her brothers' fangirls needed Braelyn to pass a message. Her two older brothers, Nathan and Nick, were the most popular guys in the school, following in their other brother's, Kyle, footsteps, unlike Braelyn. She kept her nose in her books, and she was pretty quiet unless you tick her off. Ridge McCain was the one who ran with the popular crowd. He was one of the biggest players in school, like Braelyn's brothers. To keep up his reputation, he did almost anything, and that's what started it all. Ridge was dared to kiss Braelyn, and that's just the beginning.

The blue haired boy catches Maggie's attention quicker than she can blink. Tyler had no intentions on letting Maggie slip through his fingers. First on her list: finding an apartment so she can finally move out. Tyler, bassist of the band Reset Space, is nothing short of charismatic and has an exciting personality to match. Oh, and he's crushing on the girl in apartment 2F. Tyler and Maggie's first meeting was on top of the list of things that went better than expected. Their next meeting doesn't even make that list. Who knew it was the only way to get her attention? * * * This is a spin-off of Best Kept Secret, but you DO NOT need to read that book before this one. This book is New Adult.
