Nachdem Derek sich in Mexiko vom Rudel verabschiedet hat, fuhr er zu seiner Schwester Cora nach Südamerika. Dort blieb er eine ganze Weile. Währenddessen in Beacon Hills ein neuer Mysteriöser Mord geschied und das Rudel mit allen Mitteln etwas darüber herausfinden will. Stiles bemerkt, dass ihm der Grumpy Derek auf komischer Art und Weise von Tag zu Tag immer mehr fehlte. Sie mussten geschockt feststellen, dass Derek nun schon viel zu lange weg ist und auch seine Schwester vor Monaten schon dachte, dass er wieder zurück in Beacon Hills sei.
