Florida Forest Service duty officer Ray Lumley is in love with a white fringetree. Not an I-read-Walden-in-high-school love; a sweaty, sappy, I-want-to-rub-against-you-'til-I-get-splinters love. It's awkward. So, he's relieved to learn that he's really hot for Trivia, the dreadlocked, radical environmentalist nymph who lives inside the tree. Better yet, she wants to share an eternity of Arcadian delights with him. But first she has to kill the man she holds responsible for a spate of forest fires--Ray's boss, a mid-level bureaucrat (and soccer dad) who she insists is the King of the Woods. -- King of the Woods, or Trivial Pursuit retells the myth of rex Nemorensis as an urban fantasy. He left heaven to save her. But can she save him now? The Bible story you never heard in Sunday School, 'The Descent of the Gods' is based on real legends and stories from different ancient cultures. Synopsis - After watching evil spread unchecked throughout the world before the flood, angels descend in human form to intervene. But as their mortal forms are tempted by the very sins they came to eradicate, a boy and a girl from enemy tribes risk everything to ensure the angels do not fall from grace as mankind did in Eden. But not everything is as it seems, and mankind and angels will be forced to make choices that will have eternal consequences. This Biblical action epic launches a trilogy about the first age of our world, and will be followed by 'Children of Wrath' & 'Sons of God'. “Do you know Lilith’s story?” he asked me, leaning over the counter, his strange silver eyes gleaming in the orange afternoon glow that filled the empty library, filtering through the huge bay windows. “No,” I said, and even though the air was far from cold, a chill crept down my spine. Something about his eyes, his posture, and the way he looked at me made me very uncomfortable. “She was the first woman created by God. She was made of soil, just like Adam… She was his equal. Not like Eve…” he stopped then, eyes lost somewhere beyond me. “She disrespected Adam and God and finally ended up being cast out of Eden, cursed and forgotten by all. Do you know what her curse was?” “No,” I breathed. My instinct was telling me that something was very, very wrong. It was telling me to run, but I was petrified, unable to move. “She and her descendants would never know Paradise… They would be condemned to walk the earth forever. Every time they died, they would come back as another person, and they would carry the weight of Lilith’s sin for all of eternity…" She was the one thing he needed most. He was the one thing she should have ran away from. There is only one way for a son of Lilith to stop the unending cycle of life. A soul for a soul. A life for a life.
