Due to loss of a family member back when he was very young, Patrick had become mute and hardly spoke for himself, thus causing a lack of friendship and a social life. At this school it affects him greatly as he faces the vulgar lashes of many people. But then Patrick meets Pete Wentz, an extremely well-known socialite with a rough attitude. But underneath those layers of being socially aware, Pete is also very caring, this demeanor masked by his popularity. Patrick snaps one day while at school and hurts another student, causing him to be sent to juvy where he meets an interestingly troubled boy by the name of Pete Wentz.

Patrick is Pete's baby boy and Pete is Patrick's daddy.

Patrick knows there's something under his bed. He's known since he was four. His parents knew nothing about the mysterious monster under his bed. Mr. Sandman sings the boy to sleep every night, and constantly talks to Patrick. When the boy turns 17, Mr. Sandman is all he has. His parents have neglected him, and he's bullied at school on a daily basis. Finally, Mr. Sandman decides it's time to comfort Patrick.

Young Dan Howell, who lives with his alcoholic father, lost his mother to cancer less than a year ago, and is killing himself. Phil Lester, a boy picked on for his weight, lives alone from the rest of the world in a rehab center while trying to recover from severe anorexia. When a concerned teacher suggests Dan seek help, the two lonely worlds collide. Maybe all they need for help is each other. (Rating: Mature! Very angsty! Read at your own risk!
