Dean Winchester is a mechanic from Lawrence, Kansas. Not much else interesting to be said. He eats at the same diner every week, gets the same meal, cleans up his car (affectionately known as Baby) the exact same way, and visits his little brother the same time every couple days. But Vegas has other plans. Meet Castiel Novak; former priest, slightly awkward, and the most striking blue eyes you, or Dean Winchester, have ever seen. In the cool night air of May, Dean and Castiel have an immediate connection followed by lots of margaritas, shots, and slot machines. Plenty of things can happen when you're wasted, especially when it's Las Vegas and 3 am; like getting married. In the morning, they wake up next to each other with a certificate by their side, two tight wedding rings around their fingers, and a cheaply made pair of pink panties spelling out two words: "Castiel Winchester."

Castiel James Novak is a good man. Not because he was a priest and told people about the word of God and also because he lived by the Bible. He was a good man because he just was. He was kind, he was generous, he held his heart in his hands and he never turned anybody away. All Castiel wanted that night was for God to talk to him, just once. He had prayed and prayed so many times before but there was no reply. He had read in a book somewhere about certain sigils and markings and a few words would summon God or the Holy Ghost to him and Castiel had run out of ideas. So one night, that was exactly what he did. Castiel James Novak didn't know that the markings he had put down and the incantations he had spoken did not in fact summon the Holy Ghost, except they brought down upon him his worst nightmare. Injured, captured and sold for hard cash, does he even want to know what else is coming down the pike? Set Season 6, after 'Like a Virgin'. Sam and Dean hunt a skin walker in the desert, ending up in a canyon. Both men face challenges in the desert heat and cold nights as they try to make it back to the Impala, miles away. They come to realize they are being hunted. This story is set in season 8 between Torn and Frayed and Larping and the Real Girl. I do not own or make money from SPN, Sam, or Dean.

A very sick, graceless Castiel and a concerned moc Dean.

Sam gets sick while their dad is away on a hunt and it falls to Dean to make sure his little brother gets better. Worried about Sam's fever, Dean calls the one person he knows can help: Bobby. One-shot for now, probably a two-shot later.

Summer of 1999: After being injured on a hunt w/ his father & brother, and despite his wishes, 20 yr. old Dean is left w/ family friend & fellow hunter, Bobby Singer while John & Sam leave on a week-long hunt. Not one to let Dean stew too long in his own juices, Bobby quickly puts Dean to task. Along the way, the window into Bobby’s world is opened and through it Dean learns many things about Bobby’s life and he may just learn something about himself as well. Author’s Notes: Written for the SPN-Gen Big Bang 2011 I’ve chosen to do this story to further show how Bobby lives carefully balanced on the fence between the hunter’s world and the real world; To show that a life like that is possible (even for Dean) if all the pieces fit snugly; To show the beginning of Bobby and Dean’s father/son relationship and how profound that relationship becomes in both of their lives.
