**PUBLISHING NOVEMBER 7, 2017** Celia wakes up to a room she doesn't remember, in a house she cannot recall. Suffering from amnesia, she doesn't even recognize her own face. Her circumstances only get stranger from there. She meets the LaCroix family, who took her into their home after an accident that left her unconscious and confused, but there is something unsettling about them. Irving, the head of the house, is more than hospitable. His wife, Anjessica, pale and pregnant, seems to grow sicker by the day. Baltus, an elderly gentleman, looks at Celia with an interest that disturbs her. The youngest member of the family, Maynard, stares at the floor and hardly says a word. Twin maids keep watch over the house with hard stares. Then there is Adam. Celia doesn't remember him, but they share a common bond: they were in the same accident. Somehow, he doesn't remember her either. They must rediscover each other to unlock the past, but the attraction between them is so strong that neither want to complain. They are invited to stay as long as they'd like while they recover their memories, but it doesn't take long for Celia and Adam to decide that they don't want to stay in the sprawling mountainside chateau. All around them, doors are locked. Someone is always watching. Celia and Adam must rely on one another as they plan for a means of escape - and try to uncover the secret of why the family will not let them go.

Rika is a bibliophile who picked the wrong book to read. Transported to a world like the ones she's always read about, she's not happy to find herself more or less useless. To make matters worse, she's being hunted by two powerful lords and she has no idea why. All she wants to do is go home, even if that means crossing an entire country while dodging soldiers, mages, lords, and monsters. This story is for the 2012 NaNoWriMo and I haven't posted the edited version yet (because it's not done), so be aware there will be a lot of typos in this. Sorry

This novel is an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. Blind since birth, Elle Duncan has only ever known darkness, but lack of sight has never hindered her ability to perceive the beauty of the world. Her kind and gentle soul is put to the test when her father sustains an injury that threatens their livelihood, and in desperation, he turns to the most unlikely of saviors-the Rossetti Beast. Don Rossetti is bound for an unchanging fate. He is bad-tempered, with an equally dark and scarred countenance to match. With a heart forged of ice and a soul confined to darkness, he has surrendered to a forlorn existence. But when a peasant man arrives from the village begging for a favor, he is compelled to aid the farmer in exchange for a price-a price that Elle will be forced to pay. Dear Reader, It hadn't hit me right away, many things, but especially the fact that I was about to turn twenty years old. It was as if it was just yesterday that I was learning how to make a peanut butter sandwiches, tie my shoes, and draw endlessly with fat crayons--which I thoroughly believed to be a masterpiece. It had to be yesterday, when I was befriending any new person that I met with a dazzling smile. No, those were the years that I was numb--masked from the world and blissfully unaware of the dangers and lingering dark edges of the Chicago city. Life moves fast; terrifyingly fast for some, especially those who try and anchor down each and every day of their existence. For others, it moves drearily slow. I use to be numb, I use to be unaware of the shadows deep within the corners of the earth, the watchful figures around me. I use to draw scribbles, struggle to tie my shoes, and fail at doing the simple things, like tying shoes. I use to make friends with anyone I met and kept that friendship over a promise. I use to do a lot of things, actually. But that was when life was a whole lot simpler, safer, and perfect. That was before I knew about Death. That was before he became my frenemy.
