In the days following the Battle of Britain, Thomas the Tank Engine befriends a young boy named Christopher who longs to reconnect with his father. With the help of his friends, Thomas and Christopher must stand up against a devious diesel and the approaching forces of Nazi Germany to ensure a new era of peace on the Island of Sodor.

Some people grow up listening to fairy tales, some to folk stories. For Rory, nothing was better than the stories his grandfather told him of his family's epic adventures helping to build the railway of America. Stretching through two centuries, the Sullivan family had followed the rise of railways in America and Rory dreams that one day it would be his turn.
