The keepers promised Freck and Wishes to teach them many wonderful things and help them develop their unknown abilities. In the short while since becoming acquainted with the kingdom they have already learned to mind-speak, mind-read, mind-link, and participate in cooperative cigam. Cigam is the keeper word for magic. It is magic spelled backwards to keep it from being confused with stage magic, which isn't real. Stage magic is trickery. In exchange the kids, with their parent's agreement, promised to use their new abilities to help the keepers when needed.

Daniel and Ethan are twins with a secret. They can control magic with music. They thought their father died when they were young, but on their 18th birthday, they find out he came through a portal from a parallel universe. They learn that he might be alive and imprisoned there. Can they find a way to use their magical talents to open the portal and find their father?

Nobody knows what is really happening in the Howlin' Woods, but almost every new moon terrible screams, shrieks, and ghastly noises are heard by the whole town of Burns, Florida. The legend says that if you could catch him and kiss him on the head you would be stone lucky for the rest of your life, but no one has ever accomplished it. Just hearing the whistle though, would bring a measure of luck. Two friends, Wishes and Freck, both motherless are desperate enough to brave the woods. What they found there was more amazing than monsters or salamanders. Their discovery was probably the greatest secret ever known to man.

Disturbances, earthquakes, accompanied by odd colored streaks in the sky are plaguing the Earth, the Kingdom of the Keepers, and many in-worlds. Scientists are baffled.
