Because of her young age she is not allowed to fight alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy for her "safety" and because she lives with them on the Milano she doesn't get any opportunities to make any friends, thus making her a lonely teen who doesn't have contact with anyone else. That is until she crash lands on Earth, her dads original home and gets rescued by the avengers. Thats where she meets Peter Parker.
