Joe was just trying to get to the bar to meet up with some friends for a beer when he came across what he thought was a mugging, and tried to play good Samaritan to a woman being surrounded by a group of men with clear violence in mind. Instead he finds finds himself needing saved, and everything he thought he knew about his friends, even his family, yanked out from under him as he drops straight into a world where Vampires, and possibly even other things that bump in the night are dangerously real, and not even the greatest threat he finds himself facing, just for having had an unexpected glimpse into a dark world with some real teeth. This is the first book of the Lineage series that has been in the making since 2009 but I have just never had the guts to properly write it and publish it for others to read. It is set in the modern age and follows the story of Kyan Carnelion, the leader of a vampire-like race called the Vyre, as he and his guardians join in a centuries-long civil war that divides his people between the 'pure-blooded' Vyre and the 'corrupted' Vampires. Kyan's human girlfriend, Isabel Benson, is suddenly pulled into the conflict by the consequences of her own curiosity and has now become a target. She must survive. Not just for her own sake, but for Kyan's as well. The Lineage series itself is a large overarching story that tells of Kyan's involvement not just with his own race, but other races as well of shapeshifters, mages, mystic warriors and more. I intend to publish up to 4-6 books from this series and initially planned to release a chapter of ~3000 words every two weeks at the earliest for this first book but will try to publish earlier if possible.It hasn't been working out well so I decided to just publish smaller-sized chapters as often as I could.I hope whoever reads this series enjoys.
