Dan Howell has made many mistakes in life, the first of which was being born to Aphrodite (or maybe just being born at all, in his uncle's opinion). It's never made much sense that he was the son of the goddess of love, seeing as he didn't even believe in it. Still, maybe there's time for his mind to be changed when he finds himself going on a quest to retrieve his mother's "Cupid's bow" with Phil Lester, son of Ares. Phan AU. Five years after the events of 'Hawk and Dove', the mutants have settled into their lives of protecting those who need it and helping their own become heroes. Naturally, things that are good and easy don't last, and the MGGB receive a distress call from their friends in America. While helping the Trifecta deal with a threat that could potentially be the world's first super villain, their ranks are being rapidly shrunk by a sickness that only seems to be infecting mutants.

Dan Howell is the Panther. He's evil, nefarious, ingenious, and good at coming up with adjectives for himself. The Raven is a nuisance, but he's definitely the most fun part when it comes to being a villain. As a child, Dan had been scared of his powers. He'd been weak. He'd become strong, though. Strong enough to torment the city; strong enough to annoy the Raven with every opportunity he got. Phil Lester only had one goal these days. To become strong enough to defeat the Panther. They look out for each other, separation is out of the question. In a world where everything familiar is dead and gone, just one person standing by your side can be the difference between sanity and chaos, and for the two of them, the other is that person. But how can love survive, when death is looming and one half doesn't even realize it exists? The world is a dangerous place, and even with the help of their not-quite human companion Cat and and group of newfound friends, there are new, unfound struggles in store for the pair and a secret neither of them will see coming. Sequel to Discovering Love! Dan is only just now aware of the fact that he loves Phil Lester, but at the wrong moment, because Phil hates him. He makes that very clear, in the way he successfully ignores Dan. But Dan is desperate, because the longer he and Phil are separated, the more his heart is breaking, and pretty soon he won't be able to deal with it. Does he have what it takes to make Phil love him again? Or will he always be hated by the boy with the blue eyes.

Dan Howell has telekinesis - a power just like out of a comic book. Yet instead of protecting the universe as a brave superhero, he hides.
