Natasha was sitting in the courtroom as Steve was being put on trial. She hadn't talked to him since she let him and Bucky go. Two years after their escape, Steve had been caught trying to save a man's reputation, similar to James' problem. In the time of the trial, Natasha feels herself feeling guilty--guilty of not helping Cap in the first place. Guilty of not siding with him from the beginning. Now she is faced with Steve. She had been put in charge of Steve. She was the government's eyes and ears. She seldom wonders if it would have worked--him and her--two people changed for better or for worse. Both defenders and breakers of the law. In theory, they aren't that much different from each other, but Natasha would never agree to that. Haha, well this is basically a story about Romanogers (Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers) and I pretty much write it the way I would have wanted it to be.
