"But I'm your-" "I'm your what?!" He cut her off. She flinched at the acidity in his voice. "My wife?" He scoffed inching in on her until he was arms length. His eyes bored into the depths of her soul. He slurred the words with venom dripping from his tone. "You're only a signed contract, nothing more!" * * * "What's that shit doing on your face? you better remove it! you can't be walking on the streets of Chicago wearing that, this isn't your filthy Pakistan!" he ruthlessly spoke with disgust. "You mean my veil?" She questioned with fear placing a hand on her Niqab. "If it isn't obvious" "Please, don't call it that, it's my veil, my identity" "I'm sorry what?" "I can't remove it Saahir, p-please don't make me do this, its a part of me" she begged on the verge of tears. "I said take it off!" He yelled in a deep menacing voice and pulled it off her face throwing it mercilessly on the floor. Fresh tears pooled from her eyes Frustration built through him. He grabbed her shoulder and forcefully dragged her pushing her onto the floor. The floor hit Meeza harder than she had expected. "Oww" she yowled as the pain shot through her shoulder. "Did I get little Nafasa scared?" He teased, smirking at me. Did he just call me Nafasa? "It's Nafisa," I corrected him, crossing my arms. Garrett shrugged. "Same thing, same weird foreign names." My head snapped towards his direction, angrily, as my blood boiled. "Don't you dare make fun of my name!" I couldn't believe this guy. How could people like him? He was rude, and totally disrespectful! "Oh, I'm so scared!" Garrett mocked, rolling his eyes. I glared at him, turning my head away from him, so I could no longer see his handsome yet annoying face. *** Nafisa Khan is your ordinary Pakistani-Muslim girl. She gets good grades, prays 5 times a day, obeys her parents and stays out of trouble. Garrett Parks is the opposite. He is your average bad boy, who often finds himself in fights and parties. He drinks and switches from girl to girl in less than a week. What will happen when the two unexpectedly encounter each other's totally different lives?

Paras Abbas. A walking contradiction. A person harbouring the heart of a child but the brains of a grown-up. A girl with a will to listen to and help anyone she can with her words and action. (A girl addicted to chocolate, tea and books. A healthy addiction, of course.) And a teenager with a knack of getting involved. Ethan Hayworth. A breathing complication. A boy who just wants one stable point to tether his life to. A man hiding his wounds under the façade of a curt, blunt, and impudent brat. (A boy with anger, and trust issues. Nothing major, of course.) And a teenager with a knack of getting into trouble. When Paras moves to US to live with her father, joins a new high school and gets picked as the member of the school's support society( while raising her hand to fix her hijab pin), she's in deep with more on her plate than she ever bargained for. Throw Ethan in the mix and you get a beautiful disaster. An appealing, alluring, and winsome adversity. Chaos and serenity. Darkness and light. Earth and Sky. Storm and Silence. It is, indeed, beautiful. As.... after all, she's his hijabi anchor. Spiritual: #108 (13|09|2016)

"Not all Muslims are terrorists." You know how people say never to judge a book by its cover? I shouldn't have done that myself. Growing up with racist parents planted a negative reputation of Muslims in my head. So, I started believing everything they've told me. I thought Muslims were the reason crisis was happening around the world. I thought Islam was an evil religion. But, boy, was I wrong. Everything changed, the day I met the Muslimah next door.
