When a newlywed couple finds themselves lost on the way to the airport for their honeymoon, they come across the small town of Summerland which isn't on the map. It's a place out of time. After stopping for a quick bite to eat, the find themselves stranded and decide to spend their night at the home of one of the locals. It's a choice they'll quickly regret, in a town that hungers for death and blood. Summerland was originally a short trailer written for Eli Roth's recent 30 second horror trailer contest for film. I liked the concept enough to try to change it into a short story for Wattpad's TNT short story horror contest. It's a little rough, and I'd like to add to it...but deadlines, you know? Oh, and for those curious about the title Summerland and why I named it such, I was looking through some words for witchcraft and well....things that if you're looking up and not writing stories about might cause some worry, and apparently Summerland is considered the Wiccan land of the dead. I kind of thought that fit as a title and name for the town. :D

To begin this short story is rated R as it's the highest restricted rating I could give it. There is X rated material in the story so if you're under age or such stories make you uncomfortable then feel free to instead take a look at my The Bewitching story which is PG-13. The French Riviera is a short I wrote several years ago. As an actor and as a writer I've always been told to attempt things that take me out of my comfort zone. It's breaking those walls that give a different perspective on moments in life and can actually strengthen things we're already comfortable with. Sex or erotica is a subject that's taboo in that so many people seem curious about it and yet are afraid to speak of it. While I enjoy writing about relationships an erotic story is a whole different challenge. For myself the challenge was in wanting to write something erotic and sexual yet at the same time do it in a way that was romantic and sensual without being vulgar, and also becoming more comfortable with writing about things that our society is usually uncomfortable speaking about. The story itself takes place during 1965 in the French Riviera of course. A young painter is smitten by an attractive women who inspires him to great works first through their romantic encounter during the summer, and then again by the heartbreak of her leaving. As he rises to become a renowned artist he once again through fate runs into her, only to leave after a night of passion. The years passed and as time winds down their paths cross one last time only to end in a romantically climatic scene upon the cliffs overlooking the sea below.

Winter has come and gone. Elyssa, a witch, spends her nights thinking of the mysterious man doomed to become a demon. As they cross paths once again, she learns many things in his life have changed. The new demon is even more dangerous than the last in a way no one could ever guess. Old friends reveal their long hidden secrets, and in the end Elyssa must make the ultimate sacrifice that may forever change her fate with this man that now haunts her thoughts. The Bewitching - Midsummer Aine is the second book in The Bewitching series. It follows the romance between Elyssa and Dantes, a witch and soon to be demon. As they battle against demons and human myths come to life, along with their companions Alicia, Annette, and Tobias, they must also battle the love/hate relationship they find with each other. If you find yourself a fan of character driven stories in a place that mixes myths, magic, fantasy, love and desire, and the so many amazing emotions and wonders that make us human...well then I hope my story inspires those same feelings all over again.
