King Aurthur has to go on a quest in order to save his knights who have been captured by an ancient earth spirit. He has been told by a sorcerer that he must complete the journey alone, which of course means that Merlin is coming along. Truth is revealed, victories won, and loyalties tested.

King Uther and Arthur visit Ealdor when Arthur is six and Merlin is three. As Merlin and Arthur are playing, Merlin accidentaly reveals his instinctual magic. Arthur tells Uther, and Uther kills Hunith and arrests Merlin. He can't kill Merlin for some reason. He ends up throwing Merlin with Kilgarrah, the Great Dragon. Eleven years later, Morgana begins to hear voices in her head. She follows them with Arthur down to the dungeon, where they meet a certain raven haired warlock.
