For Catherine Taylor, the dream becomes a reality when she is invited by her uncle Sir William Cavendish to stay with him and his family in their charming village of Barnbury. Four weeks of fine parties and even finer society, all in the idyllic Somerset countryside - there surely could be nothing more enjoyable. However, life in Barnbury is not quite as Catherine expected. Startled, she started to apologize. “My lord, I meant no harm this aftern-” He cut her off. “Be silent, woman. I need to explain some things to you, things you apparently don't understand yet.” He moved across the room and shoved her against the wall, pinning her arms with his massive hands. He learned forward until his mouth was in her ear. Maeve was shaking in fear; he seemed not to notice. “I am the master here. You will follow the rules, or you will regret it dearly.” She started to apologize again but he clamped a hand over her mouth to silence her. “You are not to leave this castle under any circumstances until you have born a child of our bloodline. I am willing to let my son have you, but if you cross me again or don't bear him a child quickly, I will take you whether you are married to him or not.” I am excited to hear your comments about what you like and don't like!
