Aidan starts her trip to Ireland on a rough patch of heartbroken road. With a boyfriend of four years that cheated on her mind, visiting her unknown family will be a blast! Especially when things go boom in the night. More like screech and sob in the night. What happens when after hearing strange noises, one of her cousins dies the next morning? What happens when Aidan finds herself waking up in the fields with tears in her eyes and a raw throat from screaming? Everything is in place, but obviously not her mind. She begins to see things. Things that one shouldn't see. To top it all of with a cherry, seeing all means carrying baggage. Baggage as in sleepwalking to a special place in the woods, and waking up to a roguishly handsome face. "Not everything is what it seems to be, Aidan." • • • • Anybody like faeries ?? "What?" My breathing is in short gasps now as I struggle to process what is happening. He jerks open the tool shed door and vanishes into the darkness of it. "Wait- wait!" I shout as I start to tremble even more. He wanted me to put her out of her pain? He wanted me to take that bat and finish off Salice? I start into a run as I see him walk out of the shed with a bat. "You have to-" he starts as more tears come out of my eyes. "No, no, no, no!" I screech as I stop him in his tracks. My hand latches onto the bat as he stumbles from the impact of me running into him. He tries to push me off, to take my thin fingers off the metal bat- but I've had enough. I don't want this anymore. I want to be free. And I sure as hell don't want Salice to be gone. "You can't do this." I beg, locking eyes with my father's blue ones. "I'm not." He answers cruelly. "You are." I shake my head frantically, and putting all of my weight into a push. He lands on the ground, still holding onto the bat. I grab a hold of the bat- but he just pulls me down with him. He tried to get on top of me, to put all of his body weight on me. The weight of a grown man. I've experienced this many nights before, and before I know what's happening, a blinding rage fills me, white flashes follow me as I turn my body in snake like movements. I escape his hold as I grab the bat from him. I slide on top of him as his arms reach out to grab me- but it's too late. Before I know what's even happening, my arms are holding up the metal bat- the one I was supposed to use to finish off my dog- and bringing it down on his skull.
