After bursting onto the fantasy scene with his acclaimed debut novel, Elantris, and following up with his blockbuster Mistborn trilogy, Brandon Sanderson proves again that he is today’s leading master of what Tolkien called “secondary creation,” the invention of whole worlds, complete with magics and myths all their own. Warbreaker is the story of two sisters, who happen to be princesses, the God King one of them has to marry, the lesser god who doesn’t like his job, and the immortal who’s still trying to undo the mistakes he made hundreds of years ago. Their world is one in which those who die in glory return as gods to live confined to a pantheon in Hallandren’s capital city and where a power known as BioChromatic magic is based on an essence known as breath that can only be collected one unit at a time from individual people. By using breath and drawing upon the color in everyday objects, all manner of miracles and mischief can be accomplished. It will take considerable quantities of each to resolve all the challenges facing Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris; Susebron the God King; Lightsong, reluctant god of bravery, and mysterious Vasher, the Warbreaker.

And she knows her duty. Now a woman at sixteen years old, Edith must marry and beget Ewert's next heir. She obediently considers suitor after suitor, some sweet, some baffling, some detestable. But the more she sees of her mother's society, the more Edith questions whether she really is a Folk lady, after all. And the more she's stung by its insults, its injuries and injustices, the more she doubts she really wants to be. Book One of The Unfinished Wyrm! Wattys 2017 "The Storysmiths" winner!

All of London believes Evie's husband is one of the world's greatest inventors, rivaled only by the reclusive Earl of Westmorland. Nobody knows that Evie, not her husband, is the real mastermind behind his genius inventions. When Evie's husband is brutally murdered, she is forced to seek out a new partner through whom to sell her creations. Desperation leads her to seek out the earl, a man her late husband despised and returned the sentiment. Though he neither likes nor trusts her, he can't help but feel that her husband's murder is more than it seems. And when Evie's name is added to the suspect list, he has to intervene. Striking a reluctant partnership, Evie and the earl search for the man--or woman--who killed her husband, and uncover a much larger threat--one that threatens all of England.

Disclaimer: This is a fanfiction only. I am not tied in any way to the people that write Avatar (apart from being their No. 1 fan). I've used names and place names from the origional film, but that's just because I like the sounds or can't be bothered to think up my own. The story in no way relates to the film. Anyway, my fanfic is set on Pandora, 120 odd years after the time of the first human expedition. Pandora is now divided into the Cities, which are populated by New Pandorans (Na'vi who have adopted a human way of life) and the Wildlands, where life goes on as it did before the conquest. Leia is a New Pandoran with a less-than-reputable past. On a trip to another City, the hover craft she's on crashes, leaving her stranded on the outskirts of the Wildlands. She is taken prisoner by a small group of Na'vi. Life with the tribe isn't as bad as she thought it would be, and one of her guards seems oddly familiar. But when the group's settlement is bombed, her guard drags her along on a desparate journey that leads them to the unimagionable......
