My name is Stephen Littlewood. I have three brothers and four sisters. I was born in what they now call the Early Modern era of Europe. While some born in the 1600s were privileged to live in wealth and luxury, more than three quarters of London’s population lived in the slums. But enough about me, this story is about a girl—a girl named Rose. She was our youngest sister, one of the 75,000 victims that died of the bubonic plague. They say every single being has a purpose in life. Mine, I believe, is to share my sister's tale.

Hostages is about a high school that is struggling to survive an attack without any outside help. As Drew, a mute girl, fights the attackers with several other students, she notices that the attackers seem to have a keen interest in her. As they fight to keep Drew safe from the attackers while staying on the front line, she develops a skill that helps her in her battle, and surprisingly, the attackers know of it too. Drew believes that she developed the skill to help her free the students, but she begins to think that this might not be the big picture; there might be an even bigger picture hiding just out of view.

Have you ever wondered what life would be like without dreams? I live in a world now where everything is chosen for us. Our jobs, spouse, even lives. There are these people called the Creators. They are in charge of everything that happens in the city of Lipothia. Whatever they say goes. They decide every little decision. Here in my world, everyone works. Now you might think this is just a boring story, just a story of a Lipothian girl who is different. But it's not. This is my story, and how I am different, but different in a good way, a way that I am hoping could change my world as I know it. Bryony is a 16 year old girl who lives thousands of years into the future in the city of Lipothia. Her and her sister Verity must flee from the city because the Creaters want everyone who can dream which are also known as the talents, dead. She meets a talent about her age, he teaches her how to dream, and she teaches him how to love truly. Togethere they are a team joined togethere by fate and to fix the world as they know it.
