This the origin story of Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes' friendship, starting with my version of how they first met. The beginning of the line, if you will. You're in for some fights, trouble, and a lot of fun all set in Depression Era NYC! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **I kept their relationship fraternal, as that is how I see it. All of the characters are from the Marvel Universe (no ocs), and I tried to stay as true as I could to the little bit of information about their childhoods that exists, and their overall personalities to create "Just Some Friends From Brooklyn!" Steve took a long swig of coffee, looking out the window to across the street. A single, very familiar man stared right at Steve, not moving at all. Long brown hair, tall, strong, serious face and...a metal arm. Slowly, Steve stood up, leaving his coffee and walked out the door. The man across the street still didn't move as Steve walked to a cross-walk and waited for a red light. A function switch must have turned on just then because the man with the metal arm started to turn the corner away from Steve. The light turned from green to red and Steve ran towards the corner that the man had just been on. Steve turned the corner and just barely caught a glimpse of his stalker... It's been four months after the encounter with the Winter Soldier. Four months since he found himself in a hospital bed with Sam next to him. And life in Brooklyn, NY for Steve Rogers has been normal and frankly very quiet. But what if he meets someone he thought he would never see again? What if there is a chance to regain his best friend and even his memory? There's no way Steve would pass up that chance. Finding Bucky isn't his only concern either. What if Director Fury came with extreme news? What if Hydra was planning something against S.H.E.I.L.D? Or, even new agents being sent on their first mission? Set after Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Bucky is lost, without a purpose and brainwashed within an inch of his life. S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra have both fallen and without anyone to stop him, Bucky intends to find out who he is - or who he was - before Hydra took away every last inch of him. Steve is left recovering from the catastrophe, but knows that Bucky is still out there, and that Bucky needs his help. Steve will do everything in his power to help his best friend find out who he is again. How far would you go to help your friend recover their mind? How long would you try for? Steve knows it isn't going to be easy, and wants to set Bucky on the road to recovery; but confusion and nostalgia hides around every corner. If Bucky is to find himself once again, Steve is going to have to face some hard truths about how he lost his friend and see him through every step of the way as he recovers, seeing him through the good times, and the bad. They might soon realise that the question "Who am I?" carries so much more than a name and a face.

**CAPTAIN AMERICA THE WINTER SOLDIER SPOILERS ** Steve never once thought that he would see Bucky again, after the fall. But now after everything that's happened, the destruction of both SHIELD and HYDRA who Steve thought had been destroyed long ago, Steve realizes that his job is far from done. Bucky needs him, and he knows it.

When Bucky moves in with Steve into the Avengers Tower, life changes. Between trying to figure out who he was long ago, and dealing with the new world, Bucky's life is about to become a little crazy. Add a little romance, and voila; chaos.

When Steve finds Bucky homeless in an alley near his home, their whole world changes.
