{DYSTOPIAN NOVEL} The air feels so cold. Running. My lungs feel like exploding. Running. "Stop!" They shout with their lights flashing from behind me. Green beams of light shine past me and reflect on the tree trunks. They are trying to gun me down. "Abel, keep up!" I shout feeling hopeless as I see him slow down. "I don't know if I ca-" he sputters as he trips to the ground. I run to him and desperately try to drag him back up with panic running through me. "Abel, please! They're coming!" I scream hysterically while trying to keep my arms strong on him. "Just leave me," he says trying to break from my grip. "Ruth, we can't wait for him, we gotta keep moving!" Adam yells frantically. Before I can respond, Adam grabs me by the waist and chucks me over his shoulder and continues to run while I kick and scream. "Adam, no! Let me go! I'll never forgive you for this!" I look back at Abel, feeling vulnerable and my throat clenches. As my heart drops into my stomach, I had an idea come to me suddenly. "Use the cloak! I'll be back for you! I promise!"
