❝...she chuckled. It was a dark, husky thing that sent shivers skittering along his bones. The young man's eyes grew wide as saucers and he opened his mouth to say something, though nothing came out. Emma dragged her finger down the column of his neck and made a swiping motion across his throat with the tip of her finger. Her nail left a small scratch, slightly red and moderately visible. Like the swipe of a knife at the enemy's throat...❞ - - For Emma Blackbourne, life has always been about war. The sun sets over the Western Front and rises once more over the Eatsern Front. But what is war for a warrior who was stolen from battle? Where do you go when you have no home with the humans, or any other creature, for that matter? Emma Blackbourne does not know what she is, and though she'd rather not find out, it may just be the key to ending the war. But under the surface of the ground, another war wages, it is of pointed ears and sharp teeth, of gold, silver and bronze feathers. And of five angels, trapped beneath the earth, waiting for their saviour: the sixth.

❝...As they walked inside the shipping container, the atmosphere seemed to change. It grew colder and sharper, as though a thousand eyes carved from stone were focused on them at that very moment. Or maybe just one set of thundercloud eyes that roiled and writhed like a storm in a cage... ❞ ❖ The black-coats are a large criminal enterprise that both the FBI and the CIA have been hunting for years. When two seemingly separate investigations go wrong at the same time, and two high-ranking agents go missing, are assumed dead, both hunting the same illusive enterprise, it isn't hard to figure that something is wrong. The black-coats are gathering their own facilities to run tests on the new subjects they've acquired. Almost four years after the unfortunate death/disappearance of the two agents, a new and mysterious figure pops up in the midst of a group of high level black-coat operatives. When the woman who calls herself Cannon is thrust into the arms of said operatives, she finds herself questioning everything she knows about the black-coats. They are a close-knit, intelligent and near-unstoppable organisation. So why don't their agents know anything about the horrible things they're helping the black-coats achieve? As all of this is happening, a young FBI agent by the name of Arizona Kiranovich is destined to cross paths with the criminal enterprise. Of course, that was exactly how she wanted it. With so many players in a game that nobody seems to understand, can anyone win? But who said this was about winning anyways?
