Scientists said that the sun would burn out centuries ago, creating a supernova and eradicating all organic life. They were wrong. The sun didn't implode, the Earth did. In modern day, they have manufactured habitable space stations for each country to care for its population safely while orbiting the Earth. This has repeated every 500 years since. As for mankind, its had a rocky recovery, centuries later and the population is only two thirds of what it used to be. But they've survived. Emmia Thompson is one of the 'privileged' few who get to see the Restoration before her own eyes. However, once they are safely orbiting the Earth, there's a small problem. There's found to be something impaling the Earth's core, damaging its already fragile atmosphere and structure. Left alone too long, it could tear apart the Earth permanently. The government wants to send Emmia back down along with twenty-five other recruits, practically a death wish. What Emmia will find on Earth are things that very few eyes have seen, and none have lived to tell about it. Emmia will have to find a way to survive on Earth during the Restoration and remove the shaft somehow. But what she doesn't know is that the Earth in more trouble than she thinks.
