If you've read The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield, you know who Brandon Maxfield is. He's only my readers' favorite book-husband ever. *wink* If you've read his little journal note about the honeymoon and swooned, then you might like this. We've been in Charlotte's head throughout the whole epic ride of her life, glimpsing the mind and heart of the prince who swept this not-so-proper princess off her feet. If you want to see more of what went through Brandon's mind, read on. See what it's like from this side of the fairy tale... ***PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield.*** Author's Note: These are not duplicates of scenes that have been depicted in The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield told from Brandon's POV. This book is going to consist of Brandon's journal entries as he goes through the similar experiences as Charlotte so it's not going to read like actual scenes in a book. ***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain. *** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett. A dense fog surrounded me, confusing my senses. Suddenly, it cleared and a room solidified in my sight. Confusion swept over me. At this rate, it was becoming my new best friend. My gaze swept around the room, landing on a door that had materialized in one of the walls. I began to move towards it, instincts pushing my confusion out of the way. Before I could even take two steps, someone threw a hood over my head. My elbows and feet flailed, trying to plant themselves on my attacker. It was no use. Strong arms wrapped around my torso, containing me enough to drag me somewhere only God knew of. My attacker threw me onto the ground suddenly, pulling my hood off before I hit the floor. The room I had been in was gone. I looked around, but it was completely empty. That's when I heard them. The whispers. They were telling me to run. The same warning over and over again, getting louder with each second. I sprang to my feet, the room now swirling around me. There wasn't a door. I was trapped.
