Every year in Moira Village, eighteen-year-olds, regardless of their backgrounds, are to participate in a trial held by Moira Academy and only a number will be selected to enter the academy as novice exorcists to become elite exorcists while the rest can choose to enrol in Moira Military as regular exorcists.
